EKU Theatre’s annual Shakespeare in the Ravine program will present “Romeo and Juliet” July 19-21, at 7 p.m. nightly, in Van Peursem Amphitheater in the Ravine. All the performances are free to the public.

Now, a Tax Increment Financing Local Development Area, will bring to the community a much-needed assisted living facility for senior citizens and provide hands-on educational opportunities and employment for Eastern students.

David Naylor's improbable journey has brought him to Model Laboratory Elementary School, where this educator of 13 years will serve as principal.

As the newest member of his U.S. Marines unit at Camp Smith in Hawaii more than 20 years ago, David Naylor was assigned to the adopt-a-school program.

With two younger sisters who were always trying to get him in trouble – that’s how he remembers it, anyway – a teaching career was the last thing on this young Marine’s mind.

Capital Campaign Running Ahead of Pace

EKU is ahead of schedule as it nears the public phase of its current capital campaign. Dan McBride, interim vice president for development and alumni relations, told the Board of Regents June 25 that approximately $29.7 million had been raised through last month, surpassing the goal by that point of $25 million.
